Big State Festival Won't Take Place This Year
The Big State Festival, which was planned to take place near Dallas later this year, has been canceled. A spokesman for C3 Presents, the company producing the festival, cited "a lack of top tier talent." Last year's inaugural event in College Station, Texas, featured Tim McGraw, Willie Nelson, Gary Allan, Miranda Lambert and the Wreckers. Earlier this year, another Dallas-area country festival called Country Thunder USA was canceled due to the depressed economy, low ticket sales and the financial outcome of the previous year's event, according to the festival's general manager.
