Keith Urban has been dealing with back problems, but he tells CMT Insider his condition has improved greatly after acknowledging the ailment during comments to fans attending an Aug. 23 concert in Kelseyville, Calif. "It's much better, thank you," he said while in New York City to perform at an NFL Kickoff party in Columbus Circle and the Fashion Rocks concert at Radio City Music Hall. Explaining his back problem, Urban told CMT's Katie Cook, "Well, firstly, the whole thing sort of gets exaggerated, as it often does. I just had sort of a bulging L-5 disc. ... It was a little painful, but, you know, it just meant I had to perform a bit differently for a couple of shows we did recently. I just like to play a certain way, and it was weird to be a bit restricted." Urban laughed when Cook jokingly suggested he had claimed the injury to avoid changing diapers in his new role as a father. "Oh, no, no!" he said. "Definitely not. There's no way of getting out of that!" Cook's interview with Urban airs Sept. 13 at 1:30 p.m. ET/PT on CMT Insider.
