The age discrimination lawsuit Stonewall Jackson filed against the Grand Ole Opry
was settled on Friday (Oct. 3) although terms of the settlement have not been disclosed. The 75-year-old singer filed the
lawsuit last year, seeking $10 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damage. Jackson said he had lost
his health insurance through the Opry because he could no longer meet the requirements when his personal appearances were
reduced by general manager Pete Fisher. Jackson has returned to performing on the show in recent months. His No. 1 country
hits include "Waterloo" (1959) and "B.J. the D.J." (1963).
