Clint Black is suing his manager and accountant, Charlie Sussman, over a dispute involving the independent record label, Equity Records, according to The City Paper, a Nashville newspaper. Black filed the complaint on Nov. 7 in Davidson County Chancery Court in Nashville for unspecified damages. Sussman's firm -- Gudvi, Sussman & Oppenheim -- is also named in the suit. Sussman and Black each have minority ownership in Equity. Black claims he received nothing in return for his money after Sussman convinced him to assign $500,000 in royalties to launch Equity as a minority owner. Black also said he wasn't aware that the contract signed by Little Big Town allowed them to leave the label after two albums, that Sussman accepted monthly payments from Equity Records without Black's knowledge and that Black signed more than $1 million worth of personal guaranties for the label.
