9 to 5: The Musical Will Open on Broadway April 7

9 to 5: The Musical, with songs by Dolly Parton, will debut April 7 at the Marriott Marquis Theatre on Broadway, according to a posting on Parton's Web site. The play is based on the 1980 movie in which Parton co-starred with Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dabney Coleman. BroadwayWorld.com reports the three female leads in the musical will be played by Allison Janney, Stephanie J. Block and Megan Hilty and that Patricia Resnick wrote the play's book. Resnick also wrote the story for the movie.
