Dolly Parton ranked 10th among the most powerful people in Tennessee, according to the Power 100 survey from BusinessTN magazine, a Nashville-based business publication. Calling her "arguably Tennessee's most recognizable brand around the world," the magazine cited her extensive achievements in tourism, children's literacy and country music. Other country music figures on the list included Curb Records founder and chairman Mike Curb (No. 14), Sony Music Nashville chairman Joe Galante (No. 42) and Big Machine Records president Scott Borchetta (No. 99).
