Merle Haggard has postponed or canceled five tour dates because of head
and neck pain, according to his spokesperson. He missed a concert in Wabash, Ind., on Thursday night (July 16). The cancellations
include a Saturday appearance at the Smoky Mountain Fan Fest and a Sunday performance at Jamboree in the Hills near Wheeling,
W.Va. He also canceled a Friday stop in Mount Pleasant, Mich., and a Monday concert in Kettering, Ohio. His next tour date
is scheduled for Sept. 18 in Clinton, Okla., according to his Web site. Haggard, 72, had a tumor removed last year after being
diagnosed with lung cancer.
