Kentucky Music Hall of Fame Honoring the Late Keith Whitley
The Kentucky Music Hall of Fame in Renfro Valley, Ky., is honoring the late Keith
Whitley during an event Saturday (Aug. 1). One of the highlights is the presentation of a sketch of Whitley created by
artist Corey Frizzell, the nephew of country singers Lefty and David
Frizzell. The event will also feature live musical performances from several singers and musicians, including Whitley's
nephew, Michael Keith Whitley. The tribute is part of the Keith Whitley Association's efforts to have him inducted into the
Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and the Country Music Hall of Fame. Whitley, who died in 1989 at age 33, is eligible for induction
into the Kentucky Hall of Fame in 2011.
