Darius Rucker's Country Album Goes Platinum
Darius Rucker's first country album, Learn to Live, has been certified
platinum by the RIAA for shipments of 1 million copies. Rucker previously built a career as the lead vocalist of Hootie
& the Blowfish, but he has become the first artist in almost 17 years to top Billboard's country chart with
three consecutive No. 1 singles from a solo debut album -- "Don't
Think I Don't Think About It," "It Won't Be
Like This for Long" and "Alright." In related news, Rucker will
tape a performance in Nashville to air Aug. 24 on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live. He has also been added to LongHorn Steakhouse's
"Live at LongHorn" country music program in partnership with Coke Zero and Capitol Records Nashville.
