Tammy Wynette Among Inductees to Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame
Tammy Wynette will be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in Oct. 18, in a class that includes Kye Fleming and Mark D. Sanders. Wynette will be honored in the Songwriter/Artist category, while Fleming and Sanders will be recognized in the Songwriter category. Fleming's songwriter credits include hits such as "I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool" (Barbara Mandrell), "Nobody" (Sylvia) and "Smoky Mountain Rain" (Ronnie Milsap). Sanders' credits include "Blue Clear Sky" (George Strait), "I Hope You Dance" (Lee Ann Womack) and "It Matters To Me" (Faith Hill). Wynette recorded many of her own compositions, including "Stand By Your Man" and "Til I Can Make It On My Own." Tickets to the ceremony are available to the public for $200 each.
