Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell has become the first woman inducted
into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Her induction took place Saturday (Sept. 5) at the International Steel Guitar Convention
in St. Louis, Mo. Mandrell displayed her skills on a variety of musical instruments, including the steel guitar, during her
concert tours and the TV show, Barbara Mandrell and the Mandrell Sisters. In related news, Mandrell will help dedicate
the Garden of the Stars in downtown Nashville on Sept. 29. The garden, located across the street from the Country Music Hall
of Fame and Museum, will feature namesake flowers honoring those who have contributed to the country music industry. Others
expected to attend the dedication ceremony include Lynn Anderson, Ralph
Emery, Patti Page, Steve Holy, Jeffrey
Steele, Donna Fargo, Jeff Cook, Marty Raybon
and Jett Williams.
