Toby Keith is facing criticism by some Norwegian officials for performing at the Nobel Peace Prize concert on Friday (Dec. 11) in Oslo, Norway, because of the notoriety of his pro-war hit, "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American)." According to The Associated Press, Keith said during a press conference that "if someone wants to say that one song out of 30 million albums sold and 27 No. 1's is inappropriate, then you can jump up and down about the one song." Norwegian parliamentarians and a former Norwegian Nobel Committee member had criticized Keith's invitation, according to the news service. Keith also emphasized his continued support of the U.S. military following President Obama's decision to send 30,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. "If President Obama has to send troops into Afghanistan to fight evil, I'll pull for our guys to win, and I won't apologize for it," Keith said. "I'm an American, and I do pull for our team to fight evil." President Obama will not attend the concert due to his full schedule after the formal acceptance ceremony, which took place on Thursday (Dec. 10).
