Taylor Swift ranks first on a list of the top female artists in 2009
from all genres by Billboard magazine. The list is tallied by the artists' overall chart success during the past 12
months. Beyoncé came in second in the female artist category, followed by Lady Gaga, Miley
Cyrus, Britney Spears, Pink, Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Rihanna
and Keri Hilson. No male country stars were included on the list of top male artists, which was topped by Kanye West. Following
Swift, the Top 10 country artists of the year are, in descending order, Rascal Flatts,
the Zac Brown Band, Keith Urban, Sugarland, Darius Rucker, Kenny
Chesney, George Strait, Toby Keith and Jason
Aldean. Swift celebrates her 20th birthday Sunday (Dec. 13).
