Brooks & Dunn will receive a lifetime achievement award from the T.J. Martell Foundation on March 22 during a gala event in Nashville. This will be the first year the Tony Martell Lifetime Entertainment Achievement Award will be presented. It's named for the music executive and father of the late T.J. Martell, who died in the '70s at age 19 following a battle with leukemia. The event in Nashville will also honor the work of Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, former U.S. Sen. Bill Frist, philanthropist Susan Simons and musician Michael Bolton. The T.J. Martell Foundation supports innovative research for leukemia, cancer and AIDS at six top research hospitals in the U.S.
