ACM Awards Broaden Entertainer of the Year Category to Eight Nominees
The Academy of Country Music has expanded its entertainer of the year category from five nominees to eight for the 2010 ACM Awards show. The entertainer of the year will be determined by fan voting. In addition, the ACM has combined the top new male vocalist and top new female vocalist nominees into a single category as top new solo artist. Additionally, the top new vocal duo or group field will be expanded into two separate categories -- top new vocal duo and top new vocal group. The winner of the three new artist categories -- top new solo vocalist, top new vocal duo and top new vocal group -- will also be determined by fan voting. The winners in the new artist categories will be nominated for best new artist. The date of the awards ceremony has not yet been announced.
