Carrie Underwood will play the role of a church youth leader in an upcoming inspirational
film, Soul Surfer. Filming will take place in February. The film is based on the life of Bethany Hamilton, a champion
surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack when she was 13. The movie stars AnnaSophia Robb (as Hamilton), Helen Hunt and Dennis
Quaid (as the surfer's parents) and Lorraine Nicholson and Kevin Sorbo (as family friends Alana and Holt Blanchard).
