Carrie Underwood will perform at the CMA Music Festival this summer, she said Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 2) during a phone call to a teenage fan. She is the first artist to be announced for the event taking place June 10-13 in downtown Nashville. Underwood called 15-year-old Riley Ahlstrand of Brentwood, Tenn., after the fan had e-mailed the CMA requesting that Underwood be added to the list of performers. "I always look forward to the excitement of CMA Music Festival," Underwood said after the call. "It's fans like Riley that make the week so much fun."
