Kenny Rogers and a throng of his show business friends will tape a television special
celebrating his 50 years in music April 10 at the Foxwoods Resort Casino's MGM Grand Theater in Mashantucket, Conn. Already
confirmed to perform are Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, the
Oak Ridge Boys, Alison Krauss and Wynonna. Rogers
and his management company made the announcement Thursday (Feb. 4) at Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center shortly before
his performance with the Nashville Symphony. The Oak Ridge Boys were there for the announcement, as were singer Linda
Davis and her husband, Lang Scott. Davis and Scott were in a particularly festive mood since their daughter Hillary Scott's
group, Lady Antebellum, currently has America's bestselling album, Need You Now.
Tickets to the Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years taping go on sale Feb. 11. It has not been announced yet which network
will broadcast the special.
