Allison Moorer, Reckless Kelly Deliver New Independent Albums
Allison Moorer and Reckless
Kelly are among the artists releasing new independent albums on Tuesday (Feb. 9). Moorer's Crows, her first album
for Ryko, was recorded in Nashville with producer R.S. Field. Reckless Kelly's Somewhere in Time (Yep Roc) is a tribute
to Pinto Bennett, a country singer-songwriter from Idaho whose music influenced the Austin, Texas-based band. Other new independent
releases include the Chapmans' Grown Up -- A Revisionist History (Compass), Meg Hutchinson's The Living Side
(Red House), Michael Martin Murphey's Buckaroo Blue Grass
II (Rural Rhythm), Suzi Ragsdale's Best Regards/Less of the Same (Clyde/Stark Raven), the Watson Twins' Talking
to You, Talking to Me (Vanguard) and Daphne Willis' What to Say (Vanguard).
