Texas fiddler Johnny Gimble's new album, Celebrating With Friends, was released Tuesday (Feb. 16) on CMH Records. The
collection features collaborations with Vince Gill, Merle
Haggard, Garrison Keillor and Willie Nelson, as well as album producer Ray
Benson. Additional guests include Jesse Dayton, granddaughter Emily Gimble, Jason Roberts and Dale
Watson. Johnny Gimble was formerly a member of Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Other
new releases include Backyard Tire Fire's Good to Be (Kelsey Street), Brand New Strings' No Strings Attached
(Rural Rhythm), the Marshall Ford Swing Band's It's About Dam Time (self-released), Joe Pug's Messenger (Lightning
Rod), Josh Rouse's El Turista (Bedroom Classics/Nettwerk), Jenny
Whiteley's Forgive or Forget and the Classic Appalachian Blues compilation (Smithsonian Folkways).
