Lady Antebellum
Free concerts by
Lady Antebellum and
Miranda Lambert
are among the activities surrounding the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards taking place April 18 in Las Vegas. On
April 16, Lady Antebellum will be performing downtown at the Fremont Street Experience. Lambert will take the stage on April
17. Winners in each of the ACM's newcomer categories -- top new solo vocalist, vocal group and vocal duo -- will also be invited
to perform during the free shows.
Montgomery Gentry will host the ACM Chairman's
Ride, an invitation-only motorcycle ride for artists and music industry VIPs. Later that day, Montgomery Gentry and
Randy
Houser will perform a free, private concert for those stationed at the nearby Nellis Air Force Base. The event is sponsored
by ACM Lifting Lives (the organization's charitable division) and the USO. Tickets are already on sale for the April 19 taping
of
ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn -- The Last Rodeo, a CBS television special
featuring
Kenny Chesney,
Reba McEntire,
Rascal
Flatts,
Carrie Underwood and
Keith Urban,
among others.
