The release of Mindy McCready, Baseball Mistress, an adult DVD featuring the
singer, has been placed on temporary hold while a video distribution company attempts to prove it has the right to release
it. The response from Vivid Entertainment, the adult video producer and distributor, follows a cease-and-desist letter from
McCready's attorney, Adam Dread, seeking to stop the DVD's release on April 19. In addition to segments of a video featuring
McCready and a former boyfriend in bed, the DVD includes her comments about her affair with baseball player Roger Clemens.
On Monday (April 5), McCready's publicist issued a press release that included statements from both Dread and Vivid founder
Steven Hirsch. The video executive said, "We've decided to take a little extra time to study all of our documentation and
other clearances before we proceed." Dread said, "We stand by our original statement that Ms. McCready has never made any
video for Vivid Entertainment or any entertainment company of that genre and that there is no proof of authorization from
Vivid to release any likeness of Ms. McCready in any format."
