Mindy McCready left a Florida hospital
on Tuesday (May 25) after being admitted following a report of a possible drug overdose, according to her brother, Josh McCready.
In an e-mailed statement printed by The Associated Press, her brother wrote, "She is fine and back at home with my mother.
It was by far over a huge exaggeration." As previously reported, her mother, Gayle Inge, said she may have overreacted to
the singer's reaction to pain pills when she called 911 on Tuesday morning. The singer, who had broken her toe this past weekend,
was admitted to Cape Coral Hospital near Fort Myers, Fla. A spokeswoman for the hospital would not reveal why McCready had
been admitted to the hospital but told the AP the singer was in good condition. Best known for mid '90s hits such as "Ten
Thousand Angels" and "Guys Do It All the Time," the singer released a new album, I'm Still Here, in March. A Fort Myers
native, she appeared before a judge there last week in her efforts to gain custody of her 4-year-old son, Zander. She recently
appeared on the third season of VH1's Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew. Wednesday morning (May 26), McCready's publicist
issued a press release stating that the singer's attorney has asked to review the medical records from Tuesday's hospitalization.
"We have not been given information to confirm the reports of an overdose or attempted suicide," according to the press release.
"It should be noted that the relationship between Mindy and her mother, Gayle, is volatile and unhealthy. They are currently
in the midst of a custody battle for the guardianship of Mindy's son."
