Toby Keith's Charity Event Raises Nearly $600,000
Toby Keith's annual charity golf tournament, concert and auction raised
almost $600,000 for an Oklahoma children's hospital, according to figures released Wednesday (June 2). Keith hosted the event
in Norman, Okla., on May 21-22, sharing the stage with guests David Allan
Coe, Larry the Cable Guy and Phil
Vassar. In addition, two bidders donated $28,000 each to earn individual dinners for 20 with Keith. Proceeds from the
event will help fund the OK Kids Korral, a 16-room guest lodge to house pediatric cancer patients and their families on the
grounds of Oklahoma University Medical Center that's expected to open in 2012. During the past seven years, Keith's event
has raised almost $3 million for Oklahoma children battling cancer.
