Kris Kristofferson and Terri Clark are among
the performers who will pay tribute to the 50th anniversary of Tootsie's Orchid Lounge during a concert at the Ryman Auditorium
in Nashville on Nov. 7. Early in his career, Kristofferson befriended owner and bartender "Tootsie" Bess, while Clark held
down a regular gig at the bar prior to signing a record deal. The famous honky-tonk is located across the alley from the Ryman,
the former home of the Grand Ole Opry. In the 1960s and 1970s, many Opry stars would cross the alley into Tootsies' back door
between their performances.
