Julianne Hough Keeps Role in Footloose Remake, Due in April 2011
Julianne Hough has kept her role as Ariel in the remake of the 1984
film, Footloose. The new version is expected to be released on April 1, 2011, by Paramount. Kenny Wormald, a newcomer
who has danced on Justin Timberlake's tour and appeared in MTV's Danceline, has been cast as Ren, the lead character
originally played by Kevin Bacon. Dennis Quaid will portray Reverend Moore, and Miles Teller has been cast as Willard. The
remake will be written and directed by Craig Brewer, following the departure of director Kenny Ortega. Chace Crawford and
Zac Efron had each been previously cast as Ren. Hough is a two-time winner on Dancing With the Stars and plans to release
a new country album in November.
