A Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute and a collaboration between two notable Western
swing artists are among the new albums released Tuesday (July 20). Sweet Home Alabama -- The Country Music Tribute to Lynyrd
Skynyrd is a Wal-Mart exclusive that includes the band's classic songs covered by Eric
Church, Randy Houser and Jamey
Johnson, among others. In addition, Asleep at the Wheel partnered
with Leon Rausch, a former vocalist with Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys,
for the Western swing album, It's a Good Day (Bismeaux). Willie Nelson
lends his vocals to "Truck Driver's Blues." ... Other new releases include Kim Beggs' Blue Bones (Black Hen), Marc
Cohn's Listening Booth: 1970 (Saguaro Road), Sheryl Crow's 100
Miles From Memphis (A&M), Frontier Ruckus' Deadmalls and Nightfalls (Ramseur), Gwyneth & Monko's Good Old
Horse (EP, self-released) and a self-titled album by Susan Hickman (4L Clover).
