Roots-rocker John Mellencamp, rockabilly star Wanda
Jackson, label executive Luke Lewis, steel guitarist Greg Leisz and producer Brian Ahern will receive lifetime achievement
awards from the Americana Music Association on Sept. 9 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Mellencamp will receive his award
for songwriting, while Jackson will accept hers in the performance category. Lewis, Leisz, and Ahern will be honored in the
executive, instrumentalist and producer/engineer categories, respectively. The AMA Honors and Awards show will take place
during the Americana Music Festival and Conference held Sept. 8-11 in Nashville. The ceremony will also feature the
Avett Brothers, Sam Bush, Rosanne
Cash, Rodney Crowell, Patty
Griffin, Sarah Jarosz, Will Kimbrough, host Jim Lauderdale and bandleader
Buddy Miller.
