Songwriter Red Lane will participate in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's series, Poets and Prophets: Legendary
Country Songwriters. Lane will give a rare performance and interview on Aug. 28. The program will be streamed live on the
museum's website. Lane's writing credits include Tammy Wynette's "'Til I Get It Right,"
George Strait's "Tell Me Something Bad About Tulsa," Lee
Ann Womack's "He'll Be Back," John Conlee's "Miss Emily's Picture" and B.J. Thomas'
"New Looks From an Old Lover." Lane also collaborated with Dottie West ("Country Girl")
and Merle Haggard ("My Own Kind of Hat") and played guitar on sessions with Bobby
Bare, Johnny Cash, Haggard, Willie Nelson and
Keith Whitley. He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1993 and
remains involved in the Nashville songwriting community.
