Taylor Swift's $100,000 Donation Directed to Playground in Hendersonville, Tenn.

Taylor Swift
Taylor Swift's $100,000 donation will help rebuild a playground in Hendersonville,
Tenn., where she attended high school and lived with her family prior to moving into her own condo in Nashville. Swift's charitable
fund had originally given the money for area flood relief, but her business manager later suggested the funds go toward updating
the Kids Kingdom play area, as well as the city's volleyball courts. The director of the city's parks, Dave LeMarbre, told
the
Hendersonville Star-News the donation was completely unexpected. "It's overwhelming," he said. "We didn't expect
that. We appreciate Taylor's donation as well as all the others who have stepped up." The old playground is expected to be
torn down in late fall and rebuilt in early 2011, according to the publication. The estimated cost of the playground is $175,000.
