Taylor Swift has been granted an injunction and default judgment against 16 out of 24 individuals accused of selling unauthorized merchandise featuring her likeness and trademarks, the Nashville Post reports. When the lawsuit was filed in May 2009, a federal judge sealed the documents to ensure the case would remain private. The documents were released by the court in August, and the injunction and default judgment were granted last week. The defendants listed in the lawsuit reside in South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, Texas and New York. In one instance, court documents state that counterfeit merchandise was being sold six feet outside the door at a concert in Jacksonville, Fla., and that two of the counterfeiters were arrested after assaulting Swift's merchandise manager.
