Pure Country 2: The Gift, a sequel to the 1992 film starring George Strait, arrived in movie theaters on Friday (Oct. 15). Singer-songwriter Katrina Elam has the lead role in the film that also features Strait. Elam, a 26-year-old native of Oklahoma, previously recorded for the Nashville-based Universal South label and charted four singles from 2004 through 2007. The film is directed by Christopher Cain, who also directed the original 1992 film, Pure Country. The sequel also features actors Dean Cain, Michael McKean, Bronson Pinchot, Cheech Marin and William Katt.
