Don Williams has been diagnosed with bronchitis and will not attend his Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony taking
place Sunday night (Oct. 24) in Nashville. Williams was treated and released Friday (Oct. 22) at a Kentucky hospital and canceled
his Friday night appearance in Ashland, Ky., and a Saturday performance in Hiawassee, Ga. He's expected to resume touring
Tuesday at the Perot Theatre in Texarkana, Texas. Williams performed two nights last week at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium
and had planned to return to Tennessee for his official induction into the Hall of Fame during Sunday's medallion ceremony.
Also being inducted Sunday is Jimmy Dean, who died on June 13. Early this year, Williams, Dean, Ferlin Husky and songwriter-record
producer Billy Sherrill were announced as this year's additions to the Hall of Fame. Husky and Sherrill were inducted during
ceremonies on May 23.
