Alan Jackson
Alan Jackson will be honored by the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo on
March 18, prior to his 19th performance there, with an induction into its Star Trail of Fame. At the concert, Jackson will
reach the 1 million mark for attendance at his shows at the rodeo. He is only the fifth entertainer to reach that milestone,
following
Brooks & Dunn,
Reba
McEntire,
Charley Pride and
George
Strait.
Gene Autry (the rodeo's first star entertainer),
Elvis
Presley and
Roy Rogers are also in the Star Trail of Fame. "I've played
for the rodeo fans in Houston a lot over the years, and I always look forward to it," Jackson said. "I know there are always
a whole lot of people out there when I walk out on that stage, but I never imagined they'd added up to a million. I always
appreciate the fans coming out to see me, and I want to thank the rodeo for having me back again this year." Jackson is currently
on tour in Canada, with an Australian tour scheduled for March.
