CMT will air the Dixie Chicks documentary, Shut Up and Sing, on March 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT as part of its film series, CMT #1 Music & a Movie. The 2006 documentary explores the controversy surrounding Dixie Chicks lead vocalist Natalie Maines' critical words toward then President George W. Bush, as well as the making of the group's Grammy-winning album, Taking the Long Way. With long-lasting ramifications, the Dixie Chicks have still been all but banned from country radio and continue to fuel heated debate among country purists and free speech activists alike.
