Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Jerry Lee Lewis is scheduled to record a live album in Nashville at Third Man Records, an independent record store owned by rock musician and entrepreneur Jack White, best known for his work in the White Stripes. The April 16 concert coincides with Record Store Day, an event celebrating the more than 700 independently-owned record stores that still exist in the U.S. The album, to be released on White's Third Man label, will feature Lewis performing with a band that includes two legendary studio musicians -- guitarist Steve Cropper and drummer Jim Keltner -- along with bassist Jack Lawrence, who has worked with White on several projects, including the Raconteurs band. The show will be recorded direct to analog tape, pressed in vinyl at the nearby United Record Pressing Plant and available for sale within weeks. Known primarily as a rock 'n' roll pioneer, Lewis scored dozens of singles on the country charts, including six that reached No. 1 at Billboard.
