Jason Aldean
debuted his new music video,
"Dirt
Road Anthem," on CMT and
CMT.com on Monday morning (June 13). Written by
Colt
Ford and
Brantley Gilbert, the track comes from Aldean's latest
album,
My Kinda Party, and blends his country music and rap influences. "I think any time that you're making a record,
you want to continue to branch out and try new things," Aldean told
CMT Insider. "You don't want to keep trying to
record the same album over and over and over or the same kind of song over and over and over. I think it starts to get old
if you do that. So finding new ways to kind of push yourselves and find new avenues to go down every now and then is something
that keeps it fresh and fun. [It] keeps the fans and radio -- and even us for that matter -- on our toes a little bit. I love
doing that stuff. This is one of those songs that I think definitely allowed us to step out of the box a little bit and try
something new."
