Mindy McCready
Mindy McCready has filed a lawsuit against her mother, Gayle Inge, as
well as American Media Inc., the publisher of the
National Enquirer. McCready claims she was portrayed by her mother
as an unfit parent in an
Enquirer interview published in June. McCready's 5-year-old son, Zander, is currently in Inge's
custody. In the article, Inge alleges her daughter failed to appear at a custody hearing to avoid taking a drug test and that
she visited Zander only once in the last 12 months. McCready's suit claims the publication did not check facts and "attacks
the morality and character" of the singer, who is asking for punitive damages. McCready had a No. 1 country hit, "Guys Do
It All the Time," in 1996.
