Guy Clark
A tribute album to
Guy Clark will be released on Nov. 1, five days before
the singer-songwriter turns 70. The double-disc collection,
This One's for Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark, includes tracks
by
Vince Gill,
Rodney
Crowell,
Lyle Lovett,
Willie
Nelson,
Kris Kristofferson,
Emmylou
Harris and
John Prine,
Patty
Griffin,
Rosanne Cash,
Steve
Earle,
Hayes Carll and many more. The project is produced by Tamara
Saviano (who is working with Clark on his biography) and musician
Shawn Camp.
The tribute album will be released on Houston's Icehouse Music. Part of the proceeds will benefit the Center for Texas Music
History at Texas State University in San Marcos. As previously reported, Clark will release a live album,
Songs and Stories,
on Aug. 16.
