are among the artists releasing new independent albums on Tuesday (Aug. 2). Bogguss'
American Folk Songbook features
her interpretations of standards such as "Shenandoah," "Red River Valley" and "Wayfaring Stranger." She also wrote a companion
songbook for the project, initially released in July in Cracker Barrel stores. Her country hits include "Drive South" (written
by Hiatt), "Aces" and "Outbound Plane." Meanwhile, Hiatt's new album,
Dirty Jeans and Mudslide Hymns, features 11 original
songs, including one of his earliest compositions, "Train to Birmingham." Other new independent releases include bluegrass
group Dehlia Low's
Ravens & Crows, blues singer-songwriter Keb Mo's
The Reflection, Americana songwriter
Muzikanto's
