Buck Owens
Buck Owens' mid-1950s recordings made prior to signing with Capitol Records will be released
on CD on Sept. 27 on Rockbeat Records. Owens recorded for Pep, Chesterfield and La Brea Records prior to finding national
success on Capitol in 1959. The 24-track compilation includes alternate takes of numerous songs, including "Down on the Corner
of Love," "It Don't Show on Me," "The House Down the Block," "Right After the Dance," "Hot Dog" and "Sweethearts in Heaven."
The compilation was compiled by label executive James Austin and Jim Shaw of Buck Owens' Buckaroos. Owens was inducted into
the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1996. He died in 2006.
