Toby Keith
Toby Keith has revealed the four cover songs to be featured on the deluxe
edition of his new album,
Clancy's Tavern, to be released on Oct. 24. Recorded in New York City at a small venue where
he was billed as the Incognito Bandito, the bonus tracks include songs popularized by
Waylon
Jennings ["High Time (You Quit Your Low Down Ways)"],
Buck Owens ["Truck
Drivin' Man"], Three Dog Night ["Shambala"] and Chuck Berry ["Memphis"]. Keith's backing band for the live recordings includes
some of Nashville's most successful session musicians. On the deluxe edition of his previous album,
Bullets in the Gun,
he included similar live versions of hits by Jennings,
Johnny Paycheck,
Roger Miller and Gordon Lightfoot. Keith's Locked & Loaded
tour continues this week with shows Thursday (Sept. 8) in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Friday in Philadelphia and Saturday in Washington,
D.C.
