The International Bluegrass Music Association's annual convention is in full force this week in Nashville. The World of Bluegrass
Week began Monday (Sept. 26) and ramped up Tuesday with a midday concert outside the Ryman Auditorium with
the
Del McCoury Band and an array of special guests that included
Vince Gill,
Dierks Bentley and
Sam Bush.
A full schedule of seminars and artist showcases are scheduled, highlighted by the 22nd International Bluegrass Music Awards
set for Thursday night at the Ryman. Hosted by Bush, the show will include performances by many of the nominees, including
Balsam Range, the Boxcars,
Dailey & Vincent,
the
Grascals,
the Gibson Brothers,
Doyle
Lawson & Quicksilver, the Lonesome River Band,
Russell Moore &
IIIrd Tyme Out,
Sierra Hull & Highway 111 and Steve Martin and
the
Steep Canyon Rangers. Bluegrass Fan Fest begins Thursday and
continues through Sunday with performances by
J.D. Crowe &
the New South,
Larry Sparks & the Lonesome Ramblers,
Peter
Rowan, Jesse McReynolds,
the SteelDrivers,
Dale
Ann Bradley and
Alison Krauss & Union Station featuring
Jerry
Douglas, among others.
