Sunny Sweeney
Texas-born singer-songwriter
Sunny Sweeney and longtime boyfriend Jeff Hellmer were
married Friday (Nov. 11) in Las Vegas. Hellmer, a sergeant with the Austin Police Department in Texas, previously served as
a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. A small group of friends and family joined the couple for the ceremony at the Little
White Chapel, where numerous celebrities, including Natalie Maines of the
Dixie Chicks,
have gotten married. Sweeney and Hellmer wrote their own wedding vows. The groom composed his vows from lyrics to country
songs. Ironically, Sweeney's current single is titled
"Drink
Myself Single." The track is featured on her
Concrete album, released in August. Her tour schedule includes a Tuesday
(Nov. 15) appearance in Asheville, N.C.
