Blake Shelton
's father, Dick Shelton, died Tuesday night (Jan. 17) in Oklahoma, surrounded
by his family. Dick Shelton was in declining health during the past year, according to a statement released by Shelton's label.
"I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers. Your support means the world
to me. I love you guys," Shelton said in the statement. Shelton also rescheduled four of his tour dates as a result of the
death. He launched the tour last week and had been scheduled to continue the dates on Friday (Jan. 20) in Bismarck, N.D. The
new dates are Bismarck on March 20; Rapid City, S.D., on March 21; Bozeman, Mont., on March 22 and Billings, Mont., on March
23. The tour will resume on Jan. 26 in Columbus, Ga.
