
Emmylou Harris
Emmylou Harris hosted and performed an hour-long set at the Grand Ole
Opry Saturday evening (Jan. 21) to commemorate her 20 years of Opry membership. Handpicking a few of the evening's guests,
she performed alongside
Vince Gill ("Two More Bottles of Wine") and
Rodney
Crowell ("Till I Gain Control Again," "If I Needed You"). Gill and Crowell are also former members of Harris' Hot Band.
The singer-songwriter's other collaborations at the Opry included
Buddy Miller
("Wide River to Cross") as well as
Shawn Colvin and Kimmie Rhodes ("Love
and Happiness"). Harris became a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2008. Earlier in the evening, the show included
performances by
Mandy Barnett,
Craig
Morgan and Country Music Hall of Fame members
Little Jimmy Dickens
and
Jean Shepard. Harris' latest work,
Hard Bargain, is nominated
for an upcoming Grammy for best Americana album.
