Merle Haggard has returned to his home in northern California after being treated for pneumonia and other ailments at a hospital in Macon, Ga., a spokesperson said Thursday (Jan. 26). Haggard, 74, canceled a Jan. 17 tour date in Macon and was admitted to the local hospital. He first left the hospital on Friday (Jan. 20) and planned to return to California on his tour bus. However, he returned to the Macon hospital and was also diagnosed with three stomach ulcers, eight polyps in his colon and diverticulitis of the esophagus. He underwent surgery for lung cancer in 2008.
