Randy Travis was arrested early Monday morning (Feb. 6) on a misdemeanor charge of suspicion of public intoxication after he was found with an open bottle of wine outside the First Baptist Church in Sanger, Texas, according to the Dallas Morning News. He was booked at the Denton County Jail in nearby Denton, Texas, at 1:30 a.m., and released a few hours later. A sheriff's deputy told KXAS-TV/Dallas the arrest was made after a report of a suspicious vehicle was called into the local police department. Officers found him "smelling like alcohol and [he] had an open bottle of wine," the deputy said. Travis owns a ranch in Tioga, Texas, a community located 25 miles northeast of Sanger.
