Johnny Cash
Johnny Cash's friends and family -- including three generations of Cashes -- gathered
in Nashville on Tuesday (Feb. 14) for an announcement about the launch of the Johnny Cash Museum. The museum will be located
in downtown Nashville on Third Avenue South, between the lower Broadway strip and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum
and the city's new convention center which is scheduled to open in 2013. Museum founder Bill Miller, a longtime Cash friend
and founder of the JohnnyCash.com website, said the facility will occupy 18,000 square feet and will include artifacts, documents,
video footage and other memorabilia collected by Miller and loaned by family members. Miller said it is also scheduled to
feature a museum store and a performance area for special events. Phase one of the museum is scheduled to open in the summer
of 2012.
