Jewel will play the title role in The June Carter Cash Story, a made-for-television movie that will air on the Lifetime network later this year. The movie will start filming in Atlanta in early summer with director Allison Anders. The project is based on Anchored in Love: An Intimate Portrait of June Carter Cash, a book written by John Carter Cash, the only child of Johnny and June Carter Cash, who both died in 2003. The couple's hit duets include "Jackson" and "If I Were a Carpenter."
